Hi Group,
I have seen a few questions similar to this but they are from a while back with no answers, so lets see if we have anything new.
For this example - We have Sandwiches that we sell for $XYZ - these sandwiches are also sold as 1/2 for half the price - they are also part of a combo deal we do at $XYY price. The problem is that I cannot get the two 1/2 sandwiches to set in a different price. The half by itself is half price, and the combo half is sold as $0 as it is part of the combo. I can build them out separately, but then my FOH staff have to go into multiple different places to 86 an item if we are out. Ideally, we never run out but we all know how that goes. Any Suggestions? Thanks

For some hopeful clarification the menus are built as:
All Day menu > Sandwiches > Whole Sandwich
All Day Menu > Sandwiches > 1/2 Sandwich
All Day Menu > Combo > Combo pick 2 > "multiple options" (choose 2)

There are couple ways to achieve the goal.
1) Build out your menu items by sizes and your sandwiches items will be the modifier items.
All Day Menu > Size Option (Menu Item) > Sandwich Options (Modifier Groups) > Sandwich Items (Modifier items)
2) Create "required" default modifier items for the sandwiches.
ex:
All Day Menu > B.M.T Sandwich (Menu Item) > Stock (Required Mod Group) > B.M.T Sandwich Stock(Modifier item)
In the situation when you need to 86 BMT Sandwich, turn off "B.M.T. Sandwich Stock". You won't be able to order menu items that have "B.M.T. Sandwich Stock" as their required default modifier. This works great for Kiosk and online ordering because a menu item will be marked out-of-stock automatically when required modifiers are not available. However, it would be a little bit counterintuitive on the pos terminal because the menu item will still be shown "available" But you still can't ring out the menu item because the required mod is not available.
3) Create an auto-applied "check level" combo discount.

You could get it down to one item to 86 if you make the half sandwich a single menu item, and use a modifier group to choose the sandwich, then create the half sandwich choices from existing items, and reference the whole sandwich item, overide the price to whatever the half sandwich price is. For the combos, since the charge is 0.00 for the sandwich, you could create a modifier group for the sandwich choice set to priced by group for $0, but rather than creating modifiers just choose use existing menu group and select your main sandwich group.
