Toast Now - Realtime Guest reporting

How do you value the Guest data on Toast Now reporting. I'm out of town, checking on today's business the Guest report suggests a count that is not realistic and the avg/guest sales percentage that's about 1/3 of normal sales.  Is this a projection? New to Toast and figuring it all out.

If the numbers are reporting incorrectly, you might need to contact Toast support. I have also provided some documentation about the Guestbook below.

are you talking about how many covers or guests you have had in a day? And then with that number your average check per guest? If so, we had a huge problem with that over the years, it came down to the employees opening a check for 1 person, however there 15 people in the party, or a check for 4 people but only 1 recorded on the check. We also had it go the other way, where by on accident, a server would accidently open a table for 2, and enter 20 people on the ticket. You have to be ontop of your servers and checking. I will often go in, and spot check tickets to make sure they are putting the correct number of people on the check. If you see a check for 4 entrees but the check says there is only 1 in the party, then you know your problem.

That being said, I think the TOAST reporting is right on, for us at least. Our average guest is around $23 per person and our average check is $49. If I see those numbers increase or decrease significantly, I know to dig in and check.
