Tip Pool Calculations Net Sales
‎06-11-2025 01:11 PM
Hello! We are in the process of setting up Toast Tips Manager. We set up a policy use order as the time interval. Our servers tip out bartenders based on 5% of alc bev net sales. When we previewed the tip pool report, we noticed the sales amounts at the top summary did not match the amounts used to calculate contributions to the pool. As a result, the suggested tip out is too low. You can see in the example that the Draft Beer net sales are $435, but only $289 was used for the tip out calculation. We checked and made sure that the Bartender was already clocked in before the order was opened.
We received some initial feedback from toast that this is due to cash sales being excluded when order level interval is selected.
Has anyone else experienced this?

We have been using the tip manager for over a year. A bartender just pointed out that it is not actually using the whole amount of sales. And excluding checks where no tip is entered. Now most of the staff are in an up roar about it. Have you come up with any type of solution? We want the servers to tip out based on sales. To take into account tips they are not recording
