We're a new restaurant startup located in a very busy brewery tap-room and we're having problems with mobile order and pay orders. We have guests placing orders by mobile order and pay QR codes at their tables and using text message notifications to notify guests to pick up their food from the service counter.
The problem is a high percentage of guests during our soft opening weren't receiving the text message that their order is complete when using mobile order and pay. At our cashier stand we're placing all orders to-go using their phone number and 100% of those guests receive their text notification.
Couple things -
1. Could this be Apple Pay related? During the checkout process if you use ApplePay it doesn't ask for a phone number.
2. Could this be table layout related? We didn't want to affix individual QR codes to individual tables so we have 1 "table" for each area that guests are ordering from.

Check settings for messages under kitchen setup, you would need table service enabled too.
