How to set up 2 cash drawers on 2 terminals?

Hey folks. 

I bought a second Toast flex as a duplicate to our original set up. I'm struggling to set up the second drawer. Can I set up each drawer to respond to each terminal or will it just open randomly? In any case, I'd like to set up the second one to work, is that possible? Thank you in advance.

So you are just adding another terminal with a cash drawer attached? You add the other drawer when adding the new printer, choose has cash drawer. The cash drawers will open independently, and track payments independently,  you also need to set it to open cash drawer under device setup on the new terminal as well.

How do you connect two cash drawers to one printer? There is only one cash drawer port on the Toast printer.

You need a splitter cable, toast sells one here https://www.toasttab.com/customers/shop/product/01t3c000006XmjcAAC I don't think there is any special about it though and you could probably find one that would work in Amazon as well.

how do i replace a terminal and get it to be recognized as the terminal being replaced?  i have 2 cash drawers and need to switch the terminals from one drawer to the other, how can i get it to recognize terminal 1 as terminal 2 and vice versa

I might not be completely understanding what you are trying to do, but cash drawers are assigned to printers. So if you want to switch the cash drawer that is assigned to a device you would just change the receipt printer assigned under device setup.
