Missing some key features

Some things I have been trying to get implemented. Since we started using toast, heading towards our 3 year mark, there have been several ideas that I have seen pop up, from the old system as well as on the new toast community, I have been pushing for features to help make our kitchen function more efficiently and to also make it so we can automate our menus a little more so we can have more time to do things.

Group by for only kitchen kids and printed tickets. I've seen this but it only works if you have it enabled for the expeditor. Being able to group by plate for just the kitchen while leaving the expeditor ticked full would be really helpful when we have 30 guests ordering, but we also need to be able to have it group by modifier also so that if there are 2+ that are identical, it groups everything.

Item scheduling is another feature many restaurants would use, currently we can only selchedule menus to turn on and off for specific days or times but being able to schedule items to turn on and off weekly, like for Friday, Saturday, or special occasions, would be great. But it would have to be able to go into modifiers as well, as there are not only Entrées that are only served on those days but sometimes modifiers also are weekend only or special occasions.

Wow, nobody?
"Group by for only kitchen kids " -- I do this manually. I enter the kids items first. Fire. This let's the kids food get expedited and doesn't depend on the rest of the table's order to be complete. I've done this forever on every POS.

"Item scheduling" --  I would navigate to home page of Toast, Menu, Edit Menu, Select Item: menus/menu-item and then scroll down and examine "Pricing". There you will find an area to change prices during a set of hours. Times. But for certain days... no solution currently. I did post about this too. What I did was do a "Deep Copy" of a menu and change the prices so that only on that menu, the item prices would not affect the prices on the "everyday menu". BUT! There is a caveat! You have to remember, and everyone that touches the EDITs, that it's a Deep Copy Menu. And everything added has to be separate.

What I like about Deep Copy, is that it carries over all the revenue properties, printer locations, set nicknames, etc. You need to keep a chart of all items on the menu and note where they get sent. I think it would be a nifty idea if Toast would print a list like that -- to reference it while setting up new items some time later when (we the editors of Toast) forget all the properties of items.

Of course this is very late, but it's for anyone onlooking as well 🙂
